Nachdem die Band etwa sechs Monate lang an eigenen Songs gearbeitet und fleißig geprobt hat, ist es Zeit, den ersten Auftritt zu absolvieren. Er wird als Privatparty mit ausgewählten Gästen bei Dominik zu Hause organisiert. Speziell für das Debütkonzert wird der Super-8-Bandfilm Cloud Nine & the Vitamin C meets the Banana gedreht und eine psychedelische Lightshow mit Diaprojektoren vorbereitet. (Man achte auf die weißen T-Shirts, die wir alle trugen, damit man darauf die Projektion der farbigen Dias sehen konnte.)
Von Anfang an ist geplant, dass die Lightshow ein fester Bestandteil bei den Cloud-Nine-Live–Auftritten sein soll. Was im Übrigen in dieser Zeit ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal ist, denn keine andere Band im Rhein-Main-Gebiet tritt mit einer ähnlichen Lightshow auf. Viele Zuschauer sehen so etwas bei einem Cloud-Nine-Konzert zum allerersten Mal – und sind davon begeistert.
After the band has worked on their own songs for about six months and rehearsed diligently, it's time to play their first gig. It is organised as a private party with selected guests at Dominik's home. Especially for the debut concert, the Super 8 band film Cloud Nine & the Vitamin C meets the Banana is shot and a psychedelic light show is prepared with slide projectors. (Note the white T-shirts we all wore so you could see the projection of the coloured slides on them).

Many spectators see something like this at a Cloud Nine concert for the very first time - and are thrilled by it.

Transferiert vom original Super-8-Film, ein wenig nachbearbeitet und neu geschnitten. Im Original ohne Ton, hier aber unterlegt mit der neu editierten 1988er Live-Version von Jack O'Lantern.

Der gesamte Gig war fast zwei Stunden lang, allein die Jamsession am Ende dauerte fast eine halbe Stunde.
Es existiert ein Live-Mitschnitt (in mäßiger Soundqualität), der ausschließlich an die engsten Freunde der Band verschenkt wurde.
Only a few of the very first own songs stayed longer in the setlist, first of all Rainfrontier. Unfortunately, songs that had some potential - such as Soldier, Innocent Virgin, Girl in a Drop of Water, As Long As I Got You and Have You Got It Yet? - fell by the wayside and we never really finished them or rehearsed them properly.
The whole gig was almost two hours long, the jam session at the end alone lasted almost half an hour.
There is a live recording (in moderate sound quality) that was given away only to close friends of the band.
